Common Kitchen (Cocina Común)

Cocina Común is the first iteration of Common Kitchen, a student-led food pop-up project that reinvents itself each semester to spotlight a different culture through shared meals and design. This launch centered on Córdoba, Argentina, inviting participants to hand-fold empanadas, air-fry them on site, and eat together while reflecting on food as a vessel for story and identity.

The identity for Cocina Común included bilingual placemats, pamphlets, and fill-in-the-blank conversation cards designed to encourage playful dialogue and cultural reflection.
Every detail—from the paper wrapping to the signs—was designed to make the experience feel both personal and collective. As the first in a legacy of rotating cultural takeovers, Cocina Común set the foundation for how Common Kitchen can evolve, using food not just as sustenance, but as a starting point for connection, curiosity, and cultural exchange.

More to come.

Cocina Común is just the first. Every semester, Common Kitchen takes on a new name, new flavors, and a new story. Future versions are cooking—see you soon.
